Monday January 25, 2010 Body Unit

Today we are starting our body unit. We will be discussing the five senses. Today is just an overview of the body. Here Greyson is reading his new site word book. New words are Look and See.

Lincoln trying to read a book too. He did get parts of it!!

I was trying to find a fun way to teach the boys their phone number and found this game for them. They have to jump from number to number. It is really helping Greyson memorize it. Today we just worked on the area code.

For their writing lesson today they had to trace their name with watercolor paints. I did not help either one of them at all and I was super impressed at how well they both did.

For some reason they think they always have to say cheese when they get their pictures taken. That is why it looks like they are yelling at the camera!!

Lincoln being creative after his writing lesson.

I traced each of the boys so we could add a body part to it each day. Greyson was my photographer here.

We sang the Hokey Pokey and then the boys made their book that they had to draw their body in. We traced hands and feet and they drew their heads and whole body. They turned out really cute.

Our Question of the day was "Is my body the same as everyone else's?" We talked about how our body structure, bones, organs, muscles..., are all the same but we can have different features from our family and friends. We discussed what color each of our family members hair and eyes are.

This was Greyson's "finger" math. He did it all on hos own and did an excellent job. Lincoln practiced counting from 1-10 on his fingers.
